Safety First: Electrical Upgrades for Older Homes
Older homes often have outdated electrical systems. Before adding smart switches or expanding circuits, safety should come first.
Earthing & RCCB
Ensure your home has proper earthing. An RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker) or RCBO protects against leakage and shock. Never bypass these for convenience—they save lives.
Load Assessment
Before adding new circuits or high-power devices, have an electrician assess your main board capacity. Overloading can cause heating, tripping, and fire risk. Upgrade the main supply if needed.
Quality Switches & Wiring
Use switches and wiring that meet Indian standards (IS 1293, etc.). Cheap switches may not handle load properly or may deteriorate quickly. SiSAH products are designed and tested for Indian conditions.
Regular Inspection
Schedule periodic checks of switches, sockets, and distribution boards. Loose connections, discolouration, or burning smells warrant immediate attention.
